After looking at this, I feel no need to tear one apart. I think It may be possible to build a mechanism like this fairly easily, though I'm not sure how fluid the movement would be, or if it would be as easy as doing the plotter thing.

Take a look and lets talk this over.

Photocells will be here on friday so we'll know how big the ccd will be, and can then determine the size of the camera. Do you find this valuable?
